We are living in a world where one software vendor want to kill another. I tested Identitiy Protector on a Virtual machine and found nothing suspicious.

Can you share with which "security program" you get alarm? You mentioned that your security program says no. Also, forum post you linked says it is "nagware", so we aren't talking about infecting anyone or anything
